The term is derived from the Greek word "plastikos" which means "to mold or to take shape" which in fact is quite appropriate considering the scope and application of plastic surgery. There are more and more myths surrounding plastic surgery. We must realize that the processes involved in getting old are complex. That is why it is not possible (even through surgery) to repair a particular element, as we will never achieve a satisfactory result. The doctor must assume a holistic approach and combine various methods. Plastic surgery is often supplemented by esthetic medicine. The contemporary plastic surgery has changed a lot, medical interventions are much less invasive and do not leave so much destruction. The approach is different. We try to correct not change people's appearance, and above all, use common sense and keep a natural look. We must realize through the plastic surgery women are supposed to rejuvenate not become like some of those ageless creatures with unnaturally big lips, motionless face, eyebrows expressing permanent surprise and baby cheeks. What we want is to see ourselves and not another person when we look into the mirror. A change which is too radical is for many unacceptable. Besides, the trend to avoid the artificial look is universsal.On the other hand, if someone suffer a lot bacause of some imperfection, getting rid of it opens a new world before the patient, a world that used to be inaccessible.
